The critically-acclaimed Grand Canyon Music Festival always includes Native American performers and offers a great opportunity to hear, see and mingle. The festival is held annually in late August and early Septermber.

This music festival features top musicians from around the United States, playing a variety of genres, including a large selection of Native composers and musicians. Some of these Native composers and musicians come from their own student-workshops. Since its creation, the Grand Canyon Music Festival has served the Native and rural communities of northern Arizona, giving students the opportunity to learn from some of the best. Their program, the Native American Composer Apprentice Project (NACAP), allows for Native stories to be told and compositions to be heard. They also offer the School of Rock, which allows students to experience life in a band, composing, intense rehearsal schedules, theory of rock and pop genres, and learning how to perform in an ensemble.
