Ice is now becoming dangerous at Strawberry Reservoir and other high-elevation waters. Utah State Parks reports 3 people fell through Wednesday (March 22) while using snowmobiles to get to fishing spots.

So far people on foot have not had trouble but that will also become dangerous as spring progresses. Typically, there is a lot of water and slush on the ice this time of year and so people need to be prepared.

Meanwhile, fishing continues to be good at waters that have recently thawed. DWR reports good fishing at Lost Creek as the ice pulls back there.

DWR provided this chart on ice thickness and safety.
