Ice fishing in Utah is in full swing and several clinics will be held during the next couple weeks to help beginners learn techniques and find productive locations. Here are highlights.
Price Ice Fishing Clinic

Whether you're looking to give ice fishing a try for the first time or take your winter angling to the next level, this clinic will give you tips and tricks to catch more fish in east-central Utah.
Following the seminar, you can put your skills to use on Saturday, Jan. 14, at a local water with help from the DWR. The location of Saturday's portion of the clinic will be determined based on fishing reports and ice conditions.
Fish Lake Perch Seminar
Thursday, January 19 at 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM
This seminar is for folks who want to learn to catch perch out of Fish Lake. The Fish Lake Perch Tournament happens two days following this seminar, so you'll be prepped just in time.
Attend the seminar at Cabela's in Lehi from 6:30 p.m. until 7:30 and learn from "Clam" Pro Staffer Ian Munson. We'll cover tips, gear, tackle, ideal locations, increasing catch rates and more. Don't miss the question and answer session, too!
Burbot Fishing Seminar
Thursday, January 19 at 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM
This seminar is for folks who want to learn to catch burbot (an invasive species that's fun to catch and tasty to eat) out of Flaming Gorge. The Burbot Bash begins the day after this seminar, so you'll be prepped just in time. If you're not planning to go to the Bash, you can still learn valuable tips on catching burbot all winter long by attending this seminar.
Attend the seminar at Cabela's in Lehi from 6:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. and "Clam" Pro Staffer Bryan Losee will cover strategy for the derby, locating fish under the ice, burbot feeding habits, proper gear and rigging selections, and a question and answer period.
Starvation Ice Fishing Seminar
Thursday, January 26 at 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM
This seminar is for folks who want to learn to catch big fish through the ice at Starvation. The Tightline Outdoors Ice Addiction Tournament happens two days after this seminar, so you'll be prepped just in time. If you're not planning to go to the tournament, you can still learn valuable tips on catching fish all winter long by attending this seminar.
Attend the seminar at Cabela's in Lehi from 6:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. and our experts will cover how to target big fish through lure selection, fish activity levels, jigging methods and tournament strategy for the series. A question and answer session will follow.
