Kodachrome Basin is a Utah State Park offering excellent scenery, campgrounds and hiking trails. Many people include it on their list of the 10 best camping spots in the state.

The campgrounds offer modern restrooms. You will also find a laundromat and RV dump station. Horseback rides are offered by a concessionaire in the park.

Kodachrome is located along a paved road about 9 miles south of the town of Cannonville, off Hwy 12. It is about 300 miles south of Salt Lake City.

It serves as a great base camp for people exploring Bryce Canyon, Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument and Highway 12. There are dozens of great attractions within an easy drive of the state park.

It is a popular park and the campgrounds fill up most weekends from early spring through late fall. Summer days can be very hot but on average summer temperatures are relatively mild compared with other areas in southern Utah. Spring and fall are prime times to visit. Winter nights get cold but winter days are usually pleasant for hiking and other activities.
