In the spring, when runoff fills Gunlock Reservoir to the point that it spills, beautiful waterfalls can be seen in the red rock just west of the dam. These photos were taken March 27, 2019, when we are having very strong runoff. The water is fast and cold. As the season progresses, the flow will ease and the water will warm. At that time it may be pleasant to play in the flow. By summer, runoff will end and the waterfalls will be gone.
