We've designed our reports to help you do that. When you return from a trip, fill out one of our trip worksheets so you have information that can help you on latter trips. You can mark your reports as private and they will not be available to the public, but you will still be able to see them. If we share reports we will all become better fishermen. As we build a library of reports, we will be able to refer to them to know what to expect on various waters under various conditions. For example, what works at Strawberry just after the ice comes off? In the future we'll be able to look at the reports and know. As the report library grows, you will be able to search it by water, fisherman, species, or success rating. Try it and let me know if you can think of ways to make it better. We has this custom-programmed. We think it is fully functional now but there may be bugs. Because it is a wiki, any registered user can edit and add information. Registration is free and easy. As the wiki grows, we will make it searchable by water, state, area, fish species, etc. Please pitch in and contribute information. The more help we get, the more useful this will become. Why Do A Wiki? We also want to help educate people about ethics and safety. Strawberry and Flaming Gorge are good examples. They are two of our most important fisheries but there is little good information about them on the Internet. This site has good articles about both, but there is need for much more. Hence the wiki project. This has already proven to be a fun project. I'll post updates here as it develops. - Dave |
