LaBaron Reservoir - Contains brook and rainbow trout. Access approximately 23 miles east and south of Beaver on U-153. Elevation is 9,600 feet. Plenty of parking for trailers and campers. Outstanding scenery. No boats with motors.
Lake Boreham (Midview) - Contains smallmouth bass, walleye and some rainbow trout. This reservoir is located on Ute Tribal grounds and it can not be fished without a special fishing license which can be obtained from the Ute tribe. The state record smallmouth bass was taken from this reservoir (6 pounds 12 ounces).
Lake Fork River - Contains rainbow, brook and brown trout. South slope of Uintas.
Lake Powell - Contains largemouth bass, striped bass, and smallmouth bass; channel catfish; bluegill; crappie; walleye; and northern pike. Elevation is 3,820 feet. Access at Wahweap, Warm Creek, Hite, Bullfrog, Halls Crossing. Lodges, motels, trailer courts, picnic areas, campgrounds, marinas, boat rentals and baits. Smallmouth bass fishing is coming on strong. Stripers get up to 30 or so pounds.
Leeds Creek - Contains native cutthroat trout. Access out of Leeds past Silver Reef. Small stream that is difficult to fish because of the overhanging brush.
Little Bear River - Contains catfish, walleye, carp, bass in lower reaches; trout in upper reaches. East fork, upstream from Porcupine Reservoir is closed during the kokanee run. Downstream from Porcupine Reservoir to the Avon-Paradise County Road, Artificial flies and lures only. Trout limit 2.
Little Reservoir - Contains rainbow and brown trout. Take highway 153 twelve miles east of Beaver. No boat ramp.
Little Dale Reservoir - Rainbow trout. Catch and release only. Artificial flies and lures only. Open during daylight hours only, April 1 through October 31.
Locomotive Springs - Contains rainbow trout; a few largemouth bass. Access south from Snowville 21 miles on graveled road or I-15 to U-83. Near Corrine take paved road to graveled turnoff to Cedar Springs. Follow graveled road about 20 miles. No facilities; primitive camping. Trout limit 4.
Logan River - Contains rainbow, brown, brook and cutthroat trout; Rocky Mountain whitefish. Forest Service campgrounds throughout the canyon (along US 89); also motels and cafes. No access problems, mostly public land. Trout limit 4. Special regulations above Card Canyon Bridge. Check the proclamation.
Lost Creek - Contains rainbow, brown and cutthroat trout. Most of the area along the stream is private and access can be a problem. Limited camping. Special regulations above Lost Creek Reservoir.
Lost Creek Reservoir - Closed for dam repairs. No water.
Lower Sand Cove Reservoir - Contains largemouth bass. Small reservoir between 10 and 20 acres in size.
Loyds Lake - Contains rainbow trout. No motor boats are allowed. No camping. Rainbow are smallŠ8 to 11 inches.
Mammoth Creek - Contains rainbow, brown, cutthroat trout. Some private land. Camping nearby.
Mantua Reservoir - Contains largemouth bass; bluegill; rainbow trout. Special regulations on the bass. Take U.S. 89-91 from either Brigham City (north) or Logan (south) near the town of Mantua. Many facilities close by. Limited foot access, mostly private land. Lots of weeds by mid-June.
Maple Lake - Contains rainbow and brook trout. Stocked with catchable rainbow and fingerling brooks. This small lake is near the Payson Lakes. No access problems. No boat ramp. Limited camping - tents only. Fishing from boats with motors is unlawful.
Matt Warner Reservoir - Contains rainbow, cutthroat and brook trout. Has a boat ramp and camping.
McClellan Reservoir - Contains rainbow and brook trout. Stocked with catchable rainbow and fingerling brook trout. No access problems. No boat ramp. Small lake next to Payson Lakes. Camping at Payson Lake.
Merchant Valley Reservoir - Contains brook and rainbow trout. Access 16 miles east of Beaver on U-153. No facilities. Just a wide spot in the river, but fishing can be good.
Mill Creek - Contains rainbow trout. Stocked with catchable rainbow. Some camping.
Mill Hollow Reservoir - Contains rainbow, brook and a few cutthroat trout. Heavily planted with catchable rainbow. This reservoir is owned by the DWR. Beautiful area with nice camping available. Car-topper boats only - not big enough for large boats.
Mill Meadow Reservoir - Rainbow, browns, splake and other hybrids. North of the town of Fremont.
Millsite Reservoir - Contains rainbow, cutthroat trout. Elevation is 5,900 feet. Located just west of Ferron. State park, campgrounds, boat ramp. Good spring and winter fishery. Lots of 9 to 12 inch trout.
Minersville Reservoir - Contains big rainbow trout, smallmouth bass. Located twelve miles west of Beaver off U-21. State park, boat ramp, campgrounds, restrooms, hookups. Excellent fishery both during the summer and when frozen. Trout limit 1 fish over 20 inches. Artificial flies and lures only.
Mirror Lake - Contains rainbow and brook trout. Elevation is 10,050 feet. Access via Kamas and U-150. Often inaccessible until late June because of snow. Forest Service campgrounds, picnic facilities, boat ramp, some concessions.
Mona Reservoir - Contains walleye, wipers, chub, bullhead catfish and largemouth bass. Access just north of Mona. Used for irrigation and could dry up in extremely dry years. Limited access. Lots of private property. Best access is near the dam.
Montez Creek Reservoir - Contains largemouth bass. Subject to draw-down.
Monticello Lake - Contains rainbow and brook trout. Elevation over 8,000 feet. West of Monticello in the Manti-LaSal forest. Forest Service campgrounds in the area. Fishing from boats with motors is unlawful.
Moon Lake - Contains rainbow, brown and cutthroat trout; splake, whitefish; kokanee salmon and a few grayling. Elevation 8,100 feet. 29 miles north of Duchesne through Mountain Home. Lake is about 15 miles north of Mountain Home. Lodge, cabins, boats, campgrounds.
Navajo Lake - Contains rainbow and brook trout. Elevation is 9,127 feet. Access through Cedar City, then southeast 22 miles via U-14 to lake. Lodge, cabins, campgrounds, picnic areas, boats.
Nebo Creek - Contains rainbow and brown trout. Stocked with catchable rainbow. Accessible above the Forest Service boundary line. Limited primitive camping.
Newcastle Reservoir - Contains rainbow trout, smallmouth bass. Elevation is 6,250 feet. Access west from Cedar City via U-56 near the town of Newcastle. No facilities. Trout limit 4.
Newton Reservoir - Contains rainbow trout, channel catfish, bluegill, perch, tiger musky and bass. Access between Clarkston and Trenton on Hwy 142. Minimum bass size 15 inches. Tigers, 40 inches.
Nine-Mile Reservoir - Contains rainbow and brown trout. Elevation is 5,250 feet. Access south of Sterling along U.S. 89. This reservoir lies west of the highway. Fish up to five pounds have been caught here. Private property but open to the public. Sometimes drawn down.
Oaks Park Reservoir - Contains rainbow trout. Stocked with catchables. No boat ramp. Camping in the area.
Otter Creek - Contains rainbow, brown, cutthroat trout. Runs between Koosharem and Otter Creek reservoirs. Some private ground. Small stream that can provide some fun fishing. Primitive camping. Closed in winter. Trout limit 6 fish.
Otter Creek Reservoir - Contains rainbow trout. Elevation is 6,250 feet. Access on U-62 east of Junction, 4 miles north of Antimony. State park, campground, modern restrooms, boat ramp. Convenience store, RV parks. Trout limit 6 fish.
Ogden River - Contains rainbow, brown, cutthroat and brook trout. Stocked with catchable rainbows. Access east of Ogden along U-39. Various facilities along the river. Some areas of private land. South Fork often has good fishing for rainbow and browns. About one-half private land. Several campgrounds in area.
Palisade Lake - Contains rainbow trout. Elevation 5,800 feet. Access off U.S. 89 just northeast of Sterling. State park, campgrounds, picnic area, modern restrooms. No boat ramp. Excellent camping at the state park. Fishing from boats with motors is unlawful.
Panguitch Lake - Contains cutthroat and rainbow trout. Stocked with fingerlings. Elevation 8,250 feet Access through Panguitch then southeast for 17 miles on paved road. Cabins, boats. U.S. Forest Service campground, boat ramp, concessions, lodges. All Panguitch Lake tributaries are closed during winter and spring.
Paradise Park Reservoir - Contains rainbow and brook trout. No boat ramp. Due to high elevation it may not be accessible until June.
Paragonah Reservoir (Red Creek) - Contains rainbow trout. 24 miles north of Cedar City. Take the Paragonah exit. Follow the signs east to the reservoir. Small boats only. All tributaries are closed during the spring.
Payson Creek - Contains rainbow trout. Stocked with rainbows. Very limited camping near the stream.
Payson Lakes - Contains rainbow and brook trout. Stocked with catchable rainbow and brook trout fry. Good access. No boat ramp. Excellent campground. Fishing from boats with motors is unlawful.
Pelican Lake - Contains largemouth bass green sunfish catfish and bluegill. Access east from Roosevelt on U.S. 40 to U-88, south on U-88 to lake. Boat ramp.
Pine Lake - Contains rainbow trout. Elevation 8,000 feet About 40 miles southeast of Panguitch, go south on U.S. 89 to U-12, east on U-12 to the boundary of Bryce Canyon north toward Widtsoe Junction, 10 miles to Pine Lake sign, 5 miles east to the lake. Forest Service campground, picnic areas, drinking water, can launch small boats. Small lake in a spectacular setting.
Pine Valley Reservoir - Contains rainbow trout. Stocked with catchables. No boat ramps. Camping in the area. Fishing from boats or float tubes is unlawful.
Pineview Reservoir - Contains largemouth and smallmouth bass, crappie, perch, bullheads, tiger muskie and a few trout. Fishing can be real fast for the perch and crappie. Try the upper arms near the inlets. Some private property. Boat ramp and camping. Heavy recreational boat use. Check the regulations.
Piute Reservoir - Contains rainbow trout. Elevation 6,067 feet. Access north of Junction via U.S. 89. Primitive camping, boat ramp. Rainbow trout up to 6 pounds are occasionally caught.
Posey Lake - Contains rainbow and brook trout. Take highway U-12 to Escalante and the forest service road 153 from Escalante to the lake. Camping nearby.
Porcupine Reservoir - Contains kokanee salmon; cutthroat, brown and rainbow trout; splake. Access south of Hyrum on U-165; southeast of Avon follow the East Fork of the Little Bear River to the reservoir. Surrounded by private ground, access by graded dirt road. No launching facilities. Limited camping in area. Check the regulations.
Price River - Contains brown and rainbow trout. Walk-in only below Scofield Reservoir. Fishing remains good almost into the town of Price.
Provo River - Contains rainbow, brown, cutthroat and brook trout; Rocky Mountain whitefish. Planted with catchable rainbows. Walleye are found in the lower reaches near Utah Lake. Flows through Utah, Wasatch and Summit counties. Campgrounds, concessions, other facilities at various points on the river. Excellent natural brown trout stream with trout up to 20 pounds. One of the most heavily fished rivers in the state. Some private land in Wasatch County. Special regulations.
Puffer Lake - Contains rainbow trout. Elevation is 9,672 feet. Access just off U-153 on a gravel road 20 miles east of Beaver. Campgrounds, boats, cafe, lodge, condos. Popular ski resort nearby.
Quail Creek Reservoir - Contains largemouth bass; crappie; bluegill and rainbow trout. Excellent facilities including boat ramps and camping. State record bass and crappie could be caught here. Check the special regulations. Heavy use.
Recapture Reservoir - Contains rainbow and brook trout; bullheads. No access problems. Boat ramp and limited camping. Lots of 11 to 13 inch trout.
Redmond Reservoir - Contains northern pike, catfish, bass. Contains a warm spring that keeps the central portion of the lake ice free most of the winter. Access directly south of the town of Redmond. Gravel boat ramp for smaller boats, no camping.
Red Creek - Contains rainbow and brown trout. Check season dates. Muddy for much of the spring and early summer.
Red Creek Reservoir - Contains rainbow and cutthroat trout. Access via U.S. 40 to Fruitland then north, 15 miles on dirt road to the reservoir. No facilities. Check the season dates - closed in the winter.
Red Fleet Reservoir - Contains rainbow and a few brown trout; largemouth bass; bluegill. Access 9 miles north of Vernal just east of Highway 44 on Big Brush Creek. Campground, boat ramp.
Rock Creek - Contains rainbow, brown, brook trout. Beautiful small stream on the west flank of the Uintas. Can be fast fishing.
Rockport Reservoir - Contains rainbow and brown trout, smallmouth bass. Elevation 6,000 feet. Access south 1 1/2 miles from Wanship on U.S. 189. State park, campgrounds, picnicking, as well as nearby motels and cafes. Check the regulations.
Rush Lake - Contains smallmouth bass, crappie, catfish and bluegill. Access just south of Stockton. Heavy use by recreational boaters. Dirt boat ramp.
Salina Creek - Contains rainbow, brown trout. Access through Salina. Creek follows I-70.
Salt Creek - Contains rainbow and brown trout. Stocked with catchable rainbow. Fish the creek, not just the ponds. Access through Nephi.
San Juan River - Contains channel catfish and carp. Access points at Bluff, Mexican Hat, Clay Hills (jeep trail) via U.S. l63 or U-263. Various facilities nearby.
San Pitch River - Contains brown and rainbow trout. Pretty good brown trout stream on upper end. Lots of private land so access may be difficult. Ask permission first! Located near Fairview.
Santa Clara River - Contains rainbow, brown trout. Fishing is good from Veyo at U18 northeast to Pine Valley. Various towns and facilities nearby.
Scipio Lake - Has been drawn down for several years. Probably no fish left. Used to be a great largemouth bass fishery.
Scofield Reservoir - Contains rainbow and cutthroat trout. Elevation 7,630 feet. Access near Scofield via U-96. State park, modern restrooms, campgrounds, boats. Popular ice fishing destination. Boat ramp and camping. Heavy pressure. Tributaries are closed during spring and early summer. Trout limit 4.
Settlement Canyon Reservoir - Contains rainbow trout. Stocked with catchables. No boat ramps or camping. Fishing from boats is unlawful. Located southeast of Tooele.
Sevenmile Creek - Contains cutthroat and brook trout. Elevation is 8,700 feet. This wild trout (not stocked) stream is located just north of Johnson Reservoir, north of Loa. There are several campgrounds in the area. The fish are small and numerous.
Sheep Creek - Contains cutthroat, rainbow, brown trout. Check the regulations. Lower portion closed during kokanee spawn.
Sheep Creek Lake - Contains cutthroat trout. Camping in area. Northeast Uintas. Closed to fishing.
Silver Lake Flat Reservoir - Contains rainbow and brook trout. Stocked with catchable rainbow. Good access. No internal combustion motors allowed. No boat ramp. Rough dirt road to lake but well worth the trip. No overnight camping allowed. American Fork Canyon.
Silver Lake - Contains rainbow and brook trout. Stocked with catchable rainbow and fingerling brook trout. Good access. No boat ramps, no camping. Big Cottonwood Canyon.
Sevier River, East Fork - Contains rainbow, brown and cutthroat trout. Access along U-22 from Antimony or Bryce Canyon. Used up for irrigation in its upper reaches. Runs through a steep-sided canyon for much of it's length above Otter Creek Reservoir. Difficult to fish with lots of steep slopes, brush and rocks. Kingston Canyon, trout limit is 6 fish.
Sevier River, West Fork - Contains rainbow, brown, cutthroat trout; whitefish, carp and suckers. Access via HWY 89 between Hatch and Circleville.
Sevier River (Lower) - Contains brown and rainbow trout; walleye; channel catfish; smallmouth bass; perch; suckers; carp. Flows through Garfield, Piute, Sevier, Sanpete, Juab and Millard counties. Good bass and walleye fishing below DMAD reservoir, good catfishing most of its length. Some trout where the East Fork enters the main river and below Piute Reservoir.
Sevier Bridge Reservoir (Yuba) - Contains perch, walleye, northern pike, catfish, bass and a few trout. State park, boat ramps. Follow the signs from I-15 north of Scipio, or from U-28 north of Gunnison.
Smith's Fork River - Contains rainbows, brook trout. Located on north slope of Uintas. East Fork is closed during the kokanee spawn (August 15 through September 30).
Smith-Moorehouse Reservoir - Contains rainbow trout. Stocked with catchables and fingerlings. No access problems. Boat ramp and camping. On Weber River above Oakley.
Skutumpha Reservoir - Contains rainbow and cutthroat trout. Up Salina Canyon, out of Salina.
South Willow - Contains rainbow, brown trout. Stocked with catchables. This small stream has good access. Stocked before each of the major holidays. Several small campgrounds in the area. Heavy use. Southwest of Grantsville above Grantsville Reservoir. Goes into a pipeline before it gets to the reservoir.
Spanish Fork River - Contains rainbow and brown trout. Walleye are found in the lower reaches near Utah Lake. Access along Hwy 6-89 heading east out of Spanish Fork. No facilities.
Spirit Lake - Contains rainbow, brook and cutthroat trout. Stocked with catchable rainbow. May not be accessible until about June 1. Several forest service campgrounds in the area. Northeast Uintas.
Starvation Reservoir - Contains brown trout; walleye; smallmouth bass. Elevation 5,620 feet. On U.S. 40 west of Duchesne. Just keep going past Strawberry for about 40 miles. State park, boat ramp, picnic and camping facilities.
Stateline Reservoir - Contains rainbow trout; kokanee salmon. North slope of Uintas. Check the regs for the kokanee.
Steinaker Reservoir - Contains rainbow trout; bass. Elevation 4,500 feet. North of Vernal via U-44. State park, boat ramp, picnic areas, camping, modern restrooms.
Stoddard Slough - Contains rainbow and brown trout. Special regulations. Artificial flies and lures only.
Strawberry Reservoir - Contains rainbow, cutthroat; kokanee. Elevation 7,557 feet. U.S. 40 east of Heber City. Campgrounds, boat ramps, Strawberry Bay and Soldier Creek marinas, equipment, bait, cafe. Strawberry Reservoir tributaries are closed to fishing. Special regulations.
Strawberry River - Contains rainbow, brown, cutthroat trout. Rugged terrain and some private land downstream from Strawberry. Special regulations both above and below the reservoir.
Thistle Creek - Contains rainbow, cutthroat and brown trout. Stocked with catchable rainbow. 80% accessible, check posting. No camping.
Three Creeks Reservoir - Contains rainbow and brown trout. Take Highway U-153 16 miles east of Beaver. No boat ramp. Small lake.
Tibble Fork Reservoir - Contains rainbow and brown trout. Stocked with catchable rainbow. 100% open. No boat ramps, small lake. Campgrounds in area. Good family fishery. Heavy pressure. Fishing from boats with internal combustion motors is unlawful. Up American Fork Canyon.
Trial Lake - Contains rainbow and brook trout. Beautiful lake in the high Uintas. Generally not open until the first of June. Popular camping area in a spectacular alpine setting. Off Highway 150.
Tropic Reservoir - Contains rainbow and cutthroat trout. Elevation is 7,831 feet. Go south from Panguitch on U.S. 89, east on U-12 to Bryce Canyon Road, take dirt road south along the East Fork of the Sevier River, along the edge of Bryce Canyon National Park, to the reservoir. Big pine trees and very pretty place. Boat ramp.
Twenty First Street Pond - Contains rainbow trout. Access off of Twenty First Street in Ogden. Stocked heavily in the spring and again in the fall. Popular place to take the kids. Excellent ice fishing in the early winter.
Uintah River - Contains rainbow, brown, brook and cutthroat trout. Stocked with rainbow catchables. Camping in the area. South slope.
UM Creek - Rainbow, cutthroat trout. Special regs. Artificial fly and lure only.
Upper Sand Cove Reservoir - Contains bass. Minimum bass size limit 15 inches. All bass less than 15 inches must be immediately returned to the reservoir. This small reservoir is located between Veo and Gunlock (near St. George).
Upper Stillwater Reservoir - Contains rainbows and browns. Located on Rock Creek in southwest Uintas.
Utah Lake - Contains white bass, largemouth bass; walleye; channel and bullhead catfish; carp; suckers (the June sucker is endangered and must be left alone) and a few trout (mostly in the mouths of the rivers entering into the lake). Elevation 4,485 feet. West of Provo. State park, several marinas, boat ramps, camping, picnic areas, motel/hotels available in nearby towns. Often very good for big channel cats, walleye and white bass.
Vernon Reservoir - Contains rainbow and brown trout. Follow the signs south of Vernon. Small reservoir popular with fly fishermen. Fishing from boats with internal combustion motors is unlawful. Primitive camping nearby.
Virgin River - Contains rainbow trout along highway 22 between U-24 and U-12. Near Zions National Park it gets muddy and only contains some endangered suckers from then on. The North Fork contains trout north of Zion National Park and south of Navajo Lake.
Weber River - Contains rainbow, brown, brook and cutthroat trout; Rocky Mountain whitefish. Stocked with catchables through the summer. Take Interstate 84 east from Ogden. River follows the road. The river has been dammed to make Echo and Rockport reservoirs. Campgrounds, picnic areas, and motels and cafes in the nearby communities. Much private ground.
Wales Reservoir - Contains largemouth bass. May be drawn down in dry years.
White River (Uinta County) - Contains catfish. Closed to the taking of nongame fish. Channel catfish limit is 24.
Whiterocks River - Contains cutthroat and brook trout. Fishing is good in the beaver ponds. Camping in the area. South Slope of the Uintas.
Wide Hollow Reservoir - Contains rainbow trout, largemouth bass. Elevation is 5,800 feet. Approximately one mile west of Escalante. Escalante Petrified Forest State Reserve is nearby. Campgrounds and modern restrooms near lake. Boat ramp. All bass caught must be immediately released.
Willard Bay - Contains walleye; channel catfish; largemouth bass; black bullhead; black crappie, wipers, gizzard shad and perch. Elevation is 4,220 feet. Access is available along the south end by exiting off I-15 at the Pleasant View exit, then west and follow the signs to the inlet channel. Access to the north end is off I-15 at Willard. State park campgrounds, boat ramps, modern restrooms. Good walleye fishing. Good catfishing all summer (best in late evening or night). Popular ice fishing area for crappie. Gets heavy boat use (water skiing) during the summer. Fish early or late. Special regs on gizzard shad.
Woodruff Creek Reservoir - Contains cutthroat trout; Rocky Mountain whitefish. Elevation 6,700 feet. Southwest of Woodruff. Travel on U-39 about 60 miles east of Ogden. No camping facilities, small boat gravel launch site.
Yankee Meadow - Contains rainbow and brook trout. Take highway U-143 east from Parowan. Turn left at Five Mile. Follow the signs. Camping nearby.
Yearns Reservoir - Contains rainbow trout. Stocked with catchables. Good access. No boat ramp. Some camping. Small reservoir mostly of local interest. Access up Manti Canyon out of the town of Manti.
Yellowstone River - Contains rainbow, brook and cutthroat trout. Stocked with catchable rainbow. South Slope of the Uintas. Camping in the area.
