Fishing Is Good Almost Everywhere
There’s so much good fishing going on right now, it is hard to know where to start. I’ve seen reports of great action from all around the state. The famous waters - including Lake Powell, Strawberry, Green River and the Provo River - are fishing very well but so are most other reservoirs and streams. To show the diversity, reports of very good action are coming from Pineview for tiger muskie, Deer Creek for walleye, and Electric Lake and the Duchesne River for various species of trout.
Lake Powell continues to fish very well for all species. See the report by Wayne Gustaveson. Green River is good right now. Here’s how Dennis Breer summarizes conditions: "...there are lots of fish being caught. With the weather headed towards warmer, we should climb right back on the cicada train. Actually, some folks never got off and have been enjoying it cold weather or not." Read Dennis’s full report. Provo River is fishing well on both the Middle and Lower sections. Here’s a quote from Steve Schmitd’s latest report: "If you are headed to the Middle, make sure and have a handful of good Stonefly, PMD & Drake patterns, both nymphs and dries. I seined the river again, and they are on the verge of hatching. Should be any day. Stoneflies will be best on the lower sections of this river, with the highest concentration of Drakes above River Road. With the cold front that is upon us, I would expect to see the Drakes get going first." Read Steve’s complete report. Below are links to reports I found interesting: Flaming Gorge action was slow until the anglers talked to guys who showed them where to fish and what to use, then they had great action for kokanee. Flaming Gorge, very good for kokanee Green River and Flaming Gorge, fast with flies and Rapalas on the river, slow for kokanee and lake trout Jordanelle, good for smallmouth Pineview, photo of a monster tiger muskie Pineview tiger muskie, great photos Pineview tiger muskie, good info and photos.
