Alexander Reservoir - Power production impoundment on the Bear River just west of Soda Springs. 1,000 acres. Yellow perch, channel catfish, smallmouth bass, white crappie and a few rainbow trout. Open to fishing year-round.

American Falls Reservoir - The largest reservoir in Idaho, at 56,000 acres. Rainbow, cutthroat, brown trout, yellow perch, crappie. Very popular ice fishing water. Open year-round.

Ashton Reservoir - Rainbow and brown trout. Year-round fishing.

Badger Creek - Rainbow, cutthroat trout.

Bear Lake - 6,000 feet elevation. 80,000 acres, about half in Idaho. Cutthroat, lake trout, whitefish, cisco. Boat ramps, camping areas, state parks. Lake trout and cutthroat trout grow to 20 pounds. Best fishing is early spring, late fall and through the ice. Dipnetting for cisco is popular in early January.

Bear River - Planted heavily with rainbow trout. Below Oneida Reservoir is an excellent trout fishery for about 5 miles.

Beaver Creek - Brook, Cutthroat and rainbow trout. Camping in the area.

Big Lost River - Brook and rainbow trout and whitefish.

Bitch Creek - Rainbow, cutthroat trout.

Blackfoot Reservoir - 18,000 acre irrigation reservoir. Rainbow, cutthroat trout. Hatchery cutthroat are identified by a clipped adipose fin and are available for angler harvest as are the rainbow trout. Wild cutthroat must be released as part of a Yellowstone cutthroat recovery program. Boat ramps. Year-round fishing.

Blackfoot River - Cutthroat trout. Mainstem from its mouth upstream to Cedar Creek is open all year. From Cedar Creek upstream to Government Dam -general season. All trout under 16 inches must be released. Limit is 2 fish over 16 inches. Upstream from Blackfoot Reservoir (except Trail Creek) the season is July 1 through November 30. Artificial flies and lures with one barbless hook only. 2 fish limit over 18 inches.

Camas Creek - Brook, cutthroat and rainbow trout. Camping in the area.

Chesterfield Reservoir (Portneuf Reservoir) - 1600 acres. Popular fishery for hatchery raised rainbow, cutthroat, and hybrids. Also contains brown trout. Two boat ramps are available. Open year-round.

Condie Reservoir - Managed for trophy largemouth bass since 1990. All bass under 20 inches must be released. Bluegill, yellow perch and rainbow trout. are also present. Open to fishing year-round.

Crowthers Reservoir - 33 acres. Stocked annually with catchable rainbow trout. Also contains largemouth bass and bluegill. Good fishing for the kids. Within the city limits of Malad. Open year-round.

Daniels Reservoir - 375 acres. On the Little Malad River. Rainbow, cutthroat and rainbow/cutthroat hybrids. A two trout, 20 inch minimum size limit was established in 1990 to produce a trophy fishery. Artificial flies or lures only and only one barbless hook per lure. There is a concrete boat launch ramp, toilets and camping area. Open year-round.

Deep Creek - Rainbow and cutthroat trout.

Deep Creek Reservoir - Popular fishery for rainbow trout, cutthroat trout and largemouth bass. No size restrictions on the bass. Open to fishing year-round.

Devils Creek Reservoir - 142 acres. Rainbow, cutthroat trout, kokanee, lake trout. Boat ramp and campground. Open to fishing year-round.

Falls River - Brook, cutthroat, rainbow trout and whitefish. Camping in the area.

Fish Creek - Rainbow and brook trout. Camping in the area.

Fish Creek Reservoir - 250 acres. Rainbow and brook trout. Boat ramp and camping.

Foster Reservoir - Largemouth bass, bluegill, perch and rainbow trout. Trout are planted in the spring and fall but donŐt provide much fishing in the heat of the summer. No motors are allowed on Foster. It is best fished from a canoe or float tube. Open year-round.

Glendale Reservoir - Largemouth bass, bluegill, white crappie and rainbow trout. All bass under 16 inches must be released. Bass here grow at about an inch per year. Some of the bluegill get big. Lots of willows limit bank access. Open to fishing year-round.

Goose Creek - Rainbow and cutthroat trout.

Grays Lake - Lies in a high mountain valley at 6,400 feet elevation. Actually a large shallow marsh with dense vegetation and very little open water. Some 18,300 acres have been turned into a wildlife refuge. Home to sandhill cranes, whooping cranes and all kinds of ducks, geese and other water birds. No fishing is allowed within the refuge.

Hawkins Reservoir - 54 acres. Rainbow and brook trout. Popular for bank fishing, especially from the dam and along the road. Open year-round.

Henrys Fork - 120 miles long, from Henrys Lake to the junction with the South Fork of the Snake. First 10 miles or so it is a small stream. Becomes a river below Big Springs. Big Springs flows at a rate of over a half million gallons a day. Most popular section is the 10 or so miles Between Island Park Dam and Osborne Bridge.The first three miles below the dam the river flows through Box Canyon. It then leaves the canyon and enters Last Chance Run and onto the Railroad Ranch. The ranch continues several miles below the Osborne Bridge. Not much access between PineHaven and Lower Mesa Falls, but it is a good fishery where you can access the river. Float trips generally begin again at the Bear Gulch Ski area and continue all the way to Ashton Reservoir.

Henrys Lake - 6,200 acres. Elevation 6470 feet. Cutthroat, rainbow, hybrids (cutbows), brook trout. Special regulations produce lots of trophy fish, up to 10 pounds. Two resorts, two campgrounds and a state park.

Island Park Reservoir - Rainbow, cutthroat, hybrids, kokanee salmon. General season.

Johnson Reservoir - 50 acres. Bass, bluegill perch and rainbow trout. Open to fishing year-round.

Lake Walcott - 11,800 acres. Rainbow trout, kokanee salmon, largemouth bass, crappie and perch. Boat ramp.

Lamont Reservoir - Rainbow trout, largemouth bass, perch. Open to fishing year-round.

Little Lost River - Brook, bull and rainbow trout. Camping in the area. All bull trout must be immediately released, unharmed.

Little Valley Reservoir - 32 acres. Rainbow trout.

Little Wood Reservoir - 600 acres. Rainbow and brook trout. Boat ramp and camping in the area.

Lower Goose Creek Reservoir - 1,000 acres. Rainbow trout, channel catfish and perch.

Mackay Reservoir - 1,000 acres. Kokanee salmon, brook trout and whitefish. Boat ramp and camping.

Malad River - Rainbow trout.

Marsh Creek - Tributary to the Portneuf River. Rainbow and cutthroat trout plus a few browns.

Milner Lake - 2,300 acres. Rainbow trout, smallmouth, channel catfish, perch.

Montpelier Reservoir - 120 acres. Cutthroat and rainbow, brown trout. Perch. Fishing is best near the dam. Open to fishing year-round.

Mud Lake - 7,200 acres. Smallmouth bass, bluegill, crappie. Boat ramp, camping.

Oneida Narrows Reservoir - 515 acres. Built for hydroelectric power production. Trout have never done well in the reservoir and so walleye were stocked back in 1976. A good population of walleye has developed and the population is growing. Yellow perch are also found in the water. Good campground and boat ramp near the dam. Open to fishing year-round.

Oxford Reservoir - Largemouth bass, bluegill and yellow perch. Open to fishing year-round.

Palisade Reservoir - 16,000 acres. Rainbow, cutthroat, brown trout, lake trout. Year-round fishing.

Pleasantview Reservoir - 47 acres. Largemouth bass, bluegill and rainbow trout. Access is across private land so be sure to get permission before fishing. Open to fishing year-round.

Portneuf Reservoir - See Chesterfield Reservoir.

Portneuf River - Cutthroat, brown, rainbow trout.

Ririe Lake - 1500 acres. Rainbow, brown, cutthroat trout, smallmouth bass. General season.

Robinson Creek - Rainbow, cutthroat trout.

Rock Creek - Above Rockland, East Fork is planted.

Rock Creek - Near Warm River, rainbow and cutthroat trout.

Charles Creek St. - Cutthroat trout. Major tributary to Bear Lake. Popular fishery closed until July 1 to protect spawning cutthroat. Several developed campgrounds on the creek.

St. Johns Reservoir - 48 acres. Rainbow trout, bass, bluegill and perch. Slot limit on the bass. No bass between 12 and 16 inches may be harvested, and no bass may be harvested prior to July 1 each year. Open to fishing year-round.

Snake River - South Fork: Outstanding cutthroat fishery with big browns, rainbows and whitefish also available. Best fished from a drift boat. River access just after Palisades dam and at various points down the river as shown on the map. Tildon Bridge to American Falls Reservoir: Rainbow, cutthroat trout, whitefish. Below American Falls Dam: Rainbows planted in American Falls Reservoir escape downstream and mix with the cutthroats and browns in the river to provide a fantastic fishery. Some browns get over 25 pounds and 5 pound fish are common.

Springfield Reservoir - 66 Acres. Stocked with catchable rainbow trout and fingerling rainbow. Growth rates of the trout are high. This is a good place to take the kids. Water level is stable and it can be effectively fished from shore, float tube or boat. Year-round fishing.

Stone Reservoir - 250 acres. Rainbow, largemouth bass, perch crappie. Open to fishing year-round.

Sublett Reservoir - Rainbow, brown trout, kokanee salmon. General season.

Targee Creek - Cutthroat, rainbow trout.

Teton River - Brook, rainbow, cutthroat trout; whitefish. Boat ramps and camping.

Treasureton Reservoir - 143 acres. Rainbow trout, largemouth bass, bluegill. Best bank fishing is near the dam. Open to fishing year-round.

Twenty Four Mile Reservoir - 44 acres. Managed for trophy trout fishing. Regulations allow the harvest of only two fish which must be over 20 inches each. Only artificial flies and lures, with one barbless hook are permitted. Mostly rainbow with some cutthroat and brook trout. Most fish are 15 to 19 inches. No motors are permitted and there is no boat ramp. Open year-round.

Twin Lakes Reservoir - 446 acres. Bluegill, largemouth bass, rainbow trout, carp. Open to fishing year-round.

Warm River - Brook, brown, rainbow trout; whitefish. Camping in the area.

Weston Creek Reservoir - 112 acres. Yellow perch, largemouth bass and rainbow trout. Popular ice fishing water. Boats are prohibited but float tubes are permitted. Open to fishing year-round.

Willow Creek - Rainbow and brown trout.

Winder Reservoir - 94 acres. Bass, bluegill, perch and rainbow trout. Most of the bluegills hang out in the shallow areas near the vegetation. No boats are permitted but float tubes are legal. Generally good bank fishing. Open to fishing year-round.
