Parasailing in Puerto Vallerta, MexicoBy Xanthe Webb Paragliding in the bay of Puerto Vallerta was a highlight of my magnificent trip to Mexico. You can walk up and down the beaches and choose from an assortment of activities, but paragliding caught my eye! They give you specific instructions and after you're harnessed up, then you are up in the air. I expected it to be terrifying, to have an adrenaline rush that might make me sick, but it was nothing like that. It was actually quite peaceful and relaxing. I rose off of the beach hundreds of feet within seconds, but it wasn't a very windy day, and I couldn't feel the change- only see it. The height wasn't scary either; it almost felt like it wasn't real but that you were just looking at a miniature landscape below you. It was comfortable and awesome in the literal sense of the word. I even had an abnormally bad sunburn, and the seats were soft yet safe-feeling. My paragliding experience was an amazing trip into the air that I'll never forget. It was a refreshing way to accomplish a dream and to take a moment to soak up the wonderful landscape and vacation! Copyright Dave Webb, 2007 |
