Overview: This is a very productive trout and bass water just north of Vernal. There is so much good fishing in NE Utah, this one and nearby Red Fleet are often overlooked but they are worth a stop.
Steinaker State Park offers a concrete boat ramp, modern restrooms with showers, sewage disposal, sandy beaches, a 31 unit campground and fish cleaning stations.

Size: 821 acres
Depth: 130 feet
Primary Fish Species: Rainbow trout, brown trout, largemouth bass, bluegills and green sunfish.
Special Regulations: Bass limit 6; only 1 may be larger than 15 inches.
Seasonal Factors: May through June offers good open-water fishing for both bass and trout. Action slows during the heat of summer but picks up again during the fall. Ice fishing is often very good here for trout.
Fishing Tips: Bass feed on crayfish, so any imitation would work nicely. Worms, Powerbait and small lures are popular for the trout. The green sunfish are over populating the lake, killing off the trout; anglers are encouraged to harvest these fish.
