Kanab makes a great base camp when you want to explore national parks and major attractions in SW Utah and NW Arizona. Kanab is great year-round. Summer days are usually nice - not as hot as St George. Winter nights can be cold but days are usually sunny and warm - great for hiking, biking, and exploring. Spring and fall are perfect.

It is an easy day trip from Kanab to these destinations:

• Zion National Park (East Entrance) – 30 miles
• Lake Powell (Wahweap Marina) – 70 miles
• Bryce Canyon National Park – 76 miles
• Grand Canyon North Rim – 79 miles
• St. George Utah – 80 miles

Kanab is on the southwest edge of Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument.
