We went looking for big brook trout on Boulder Mountain over the weekend. Found solid fish but did not get into anything trophy-sized.
Explored the south end of Boulder Top. Roads were very rugged and definitely required high-clearance 4x4.
The scenery was beautiful and it was a fun trip but it would have been nice to find a big guy.
Woke up to frost on the ground by our tent this morning. Camped at an elevation of about 10,880 feet and was surprised that it cooled off so much overnight.
Leaves have not yet started to turn.
Fall is one of my favorite times to explore Boulder Mountain. Colors - leaves and fish - increase in beauty as the season progresses.
