We fished Sand Hollow on Oct 3, 2019, and found good action for largemouth bass. We caught fish by working plastic jigs into the rocks along the dam. Our best success came using a crawdad style, between sundown and dark.

Sand Hollow is one of Utah's best reservoirs for largemouth and it offers a good number of large fish. Action picks up in March and is good through May, then slows a bit during the hot months. As temperatures cool in September, fishing often becomes hot and stays good until the water gets cold.

The largemouth usually begin to spawn in late April and that provides some of the best action of the year.

Sand Hollow also offers a few bluegill, black crappie, sunfish and black bullhead.

Facilities
Sand Hollow is a popular Utah State Park with very nice facilities including a paved boat ramp, docks, campground, restrooms and RV sites. Concessionaires rent boats, watercraft, skis, boards and other items.

The park is open year-round and is a popular spot for winter camping.

Red sandstone formations protrude from the water near the marina. That spot is quite photogenic.

A sand dune area extends down to the water and the reservoir has sandy beaches. Limited camping is allowed on the beach. ATVs and sand buggies are allowed to operate on dunes in the park and in a larger dune area just outside of the boundaries.

Swimming is popular at the reservoir but check current conditions because swimmer's itch develops many summers. The reservoir water is clear and attracts divers.
