burraston ponds swingThis is a fun spot to picnic, kayak, paddleboard, swim, rope swing, and fish. In the past camping was allowed but that was discontinued a few years ago.

The ponds are located just south of Mona, north of Nephi. They have become quite popular and so expect a good number of people to be there on summer weekends. The rope swings are very popular. There are plenty of places to park and room to kayak, even on the busiest days, but there may be lines to use the swings.

There are several swings of different heights tied onto tree branches overhanging the water, so you can find a swing to match any adventure level.

We visited on a Saturday afternoon and there were many families at the ponds. Virtually everyone was wearing shorts or swimwear.

There are three interconnecting ponds in the area, which are managed by the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources. The ponds are stocked and fishing is often good. Species present include trout, sunfish, carp, and catfish.

Boats with motors are not allowed. There are no developed launch facilities but you can easily carry boats to the water in many spots.
