Utah's Division of Wildlife Resources provided this tidbit of info, along with the photo below:
Head's up, Green River anglers: Releases from Flaming Gorge dam are increasing to 4,600 cfs, which is power plant capacity. It's a high release for this early in the spring, resultant from the increasing snowpack, wet weather pattern and warm temperatures in the forecast. Be sure to check information about recent releases athttps://go.usa.gov/xXakM
Our Friends at Trout Creek Flies offered this:
We are seeing higher than normal flow as of now. Currently the forecast is for 4600 cfs until April. Don't let this scare you off. The fishing has been great and people have been having good days.
Float fishermen have done well on streamers and Blue wings.
You can still wade fish and the hatch has been starting around 11 am and going till about 3pm. Stop in the shop and we can help you pick out the patterns that have been the most productive. Hope to see you soon!
