Large, colorful pictographs and smaller, faded/eroded petroglyphs can be viewed in Fish Creek Cove, on the north end of Boulder Mountain. This is one of the most impressive rock art panels in the Capitol Reef area. The pictographs are some of the largest found anywhere.
Access is fairly easy. A rough dirt road leads to the trailhead parking area. High clearance is recommend, but many people make it in family cars. From the trailhead, follow an easy, well defined trail west for a couple hundred yards to the panel.
The area is very scenic, with white sandstone monoliths bordered by stone with pink hues. The trail is sandy, covered with deep, clean, fine white sand. The scenery rivals that found in Capitol Reef.
