April 26, 2021: This is from my friends at Strawberry Anglers' Association.

SAA Members,

The following pictures show what is ready to be caught now as the ice begins to melt at Strawberry. Although limited, the open water yielded nice fish to my son and his fishing partner during the past few days. These fish and many not quite as large were caught on flies and released to make another angler's day. We may see another great season! I posted these pictures on the SAA's Facebook page. When talking with other anglers, mention that this Facebook page show Strawberry Reservoir's available fish. Or forward this email to those not on the SAA Mailing list.

Thanks everyone,
Ronald Dunn

April 24, 2021: We visited Strawberry this morning and found only a tiny amount of open water, with lots of people trying to fish it. This is Soldier Creek marina. Road was open and dry but not enough open water to launch a boat. I think ice-off fishing will peak about Wednesday, after today's storm plays out.

April 19, 2021: Ice is now coming off Strawberry right now. There is fishable open water in front of the ladders and some on the Soldier Creek side. The amount should increase every day now. Ice will probably be gone within a week or so.

At this writing, boat ramps not usable. We expect you may be able to launch later this week. We hope to head up there Friday or Saturday and will give a comprehensive report if we make it.
