(March 29, 2022) Our friends at Strawberry Anglers Association provided the information below:

SAA Members,

The next fishing season at Strawberry Reservoir is only weeks away. The Strawberry Management Committee continues to work on the new plan. I will send that to you for your review when the final version is ready. I want to thank Andy Clark for all of the time that he has devoted to this updated plan as the SAA representative.

In the meantime, the attachment below shows the annual State of the Strawberry Reservoir Fishery. This is the annual report that Alan Ward prepares for various audiences. The fishery itself seems solid. Ideally, we would like see more snow melt to completely fill the reservoir.

The other attachment is a picture of a kokanee that my son's fishing partner caught in late October from shore using a 9 foot 5 weight fly rod with a floating line. Apparently, there are a few such fish to be caught that late in the year but rarely from shore using a fly rod.

I hope that everyone has a successful fishing season at Strawberry.

Thanks,

Ronald Dunn
Presient, SAA
