kokanee seminar 2018

The Utah Division of Wildlife Resources is hosting a kokanee salmon fishing seminar on April 9, 2018, from 7 to 8 pm, in the Utah Department of Natural Resources building auditorium, 1594 W. North Temple, Salt Lake City.

Fisheries biologists and expert fishermen will talk about where, how and when to catch kokanee. Utah offers several excellent kokanee waters and this seminar will give you good basic info to help you get onto them.

Kokanee salmon (landlocked sockeye salmon) can be a tricky species to catch in Utah, but they're beautiful, abundant, fun to hook into and great to grill.

We've teamed up with some of the state's most experienced kokanee anglers (Rocky Mountain Tackle) and the Blue Ribbon Fisheries Council to offer a free seminar on how to best catch these elusive, delicious fish. Join us April 9 at 7 p.m. and learn:

• What's happening with Utah's kokanee fisheries
• How to catch kokanee in Strawberry Reservoir
• How to catch kokanee in Flaming Gorge
• Kokanee equipment necessities

Pre-registration is required at http://bit.ly/kokanee18. See you there!
